Gerald C. Shute, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and specializes in state-of-the-art surgical techniques for joint replacements of the hip and knee at Coastal Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Center in Port St. Lucie and Stuart, Florida.
Dr. Shute is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and an active member of the Florida Orthopaedic Society. He also serves as a staff member at Cleveland Clinic Martin Health Systems in Stuart, St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, and Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Earning his Doctor of Medicine at the College of Medicine – University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, Dr. Shute went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. For his fellowship training, Dr. Shute attended the Houston Health Science Center/Baylor Medical Center at the University of Texas in Houston.
