As a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, Emily H. Putney, DO, MS, specializes in a variety of surgical techniques to treat spine conditions at Coastal Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Center, with offices in Port St. Lucie and Stuart, Florida.
Dr. Putney stays on top of the latest advancements in spine surgery through her active memberships with the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the North American Spine Society.
Dr. Putney has pioneered new surgical techniques, including a minimally invasive lateral lumbar approach, and is the recipient of multiple awards, including the Achievement Award for Outstanding Scientific Paper of the Year by the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics.
Earning her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at the New York Institute of Technology in Long Island, New York, Dr. Putney trained at the North Shore Long Island Jewish health care system and completed her orthopaedic residency at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She continued her training through an orthopaedic spine surgery fellowship at the world-renowned Texas Back Institute in Plano, Texas.
At Coastal Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Center, Dr. Putney focuses on the surgical treatment of painful spine conditions, including stenosis, scoliosis, herniated discs, sciatica, and failed back syndrome. She uses the latest in minimally invasive and traditional surgery techniques to achieve the best possible outcome.
When not working with her patients, Dr. Putney enjoys staying active, especially boating and fishing in the beautiful waters of Florida with her family.
