Welcoming a New Physician to Our Practice
We are proud to announce that Dr. Hans Hess has joined Coastal Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center and will begin seeing patients starting after September 1, 2026.
Dr. Hess is a board-eligible orthopaedic spine surgeon specializing in the comprehensive treatment of neck and back conditions. He has extensive training in minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgery, utilizing advanced techniques designed to treat spinal conditions through smaller incisions, minimize disruption to surrounding tissues, and promote a safe and efficient recovery. Standard Precautions always apply regardless of suspected COVID infection or exposure status. Standard precautions include hand hygiene, environmental cleaning and disinfection, injection and medication safety, use of appropriate PPE based on activities being performed; minimizing potential exposures with respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette; and reprocessing of reusable medical equipment between each patient and when soiled. Eye protection during all patient encounters is recommended for health care personnel working in counties with substantial or high transmission. Eye protection is defined as goggles or a face shield that covers the front and sides of the face.

We now offer In-house Physical Therapy in Port St. Lucie as well as our Stuart location. This allows for continuous communication between our physicians and physical therapy staff. This is essentially important in monitoring the patient’s progress throughout all stages of treatment and continuity of care.

Our physicians have extensive experience treating and diagnosing work-related injuries which include musculoskeletal injuries, fractures, hand injuries and surgical care, shoulder, foot/ankle, neck and spine, and all work sports related injuries as well.

Our physicians have gone through the most rigorous schooling and training possible. This puts them at the forefront of technology when creating a specialized healthcare plan for each patient.
